How do I sign up?

The freemium version of MailGapp is free to download. However, you must have an administrator account to upload scans of the mail.

If you receive mail at a local mailing center that is not a participant, speak to the center’s postmaster to see if they would like to participate, or contact us with the mailing center information so that we can contact them to become a partner.

Can I use MailGapp if I’m not a mailing center customer?

Yes, the app is downloadable, but it will not be functional unless you have an administrator account. If you have an administrator account, you can create subaccounts for people within the agency or company to upload scans of mail for each individual agent, worker, etc.

How do I use my admin account?

The admin account is simply used for uploading scans of mail. No mail is viewable after 30 days from this account. The admin will scan mail for each sub-accounts as mail is received so the individual (client, agent, etc.) that receives mail can view the mail from their own account.

How much does it cost?

The app is free, until you upgrade to an account with more functionality. The free version of the app has limited functions (simply viewing your mail). With upgrades, MailGapp will connect to other resources that will digitally pull up information about the sender, save promotions, set up a mail management service to receive notifications through different channels, and more!

Which devices does MailGapp work on?

MailGapp works on any internet connected device as well as natively on smartphone devices (Android, iPhone, Windows, and Blackberry).

How does my mailing center become a partner with MailGapp?

You can either talk to your mailing center to become a MailGapp partner so they can contact us for details*, or you can send us contact information so that we can speak to your mailing center to utilize the application for enhanced mailing notifications.

Do the mailing centers open up all of my mail?

No, the mailing centers only scan the face of the mail. Unless your mailing center has set up special agreements with their individual clients, they will only be taking an image of the outer face of the mail to allow you to view what you have received, as it comes in to your mailbox. However, when you open your own mail and deem it necessary to keep a digital file you may use the upload function to store and share the contents.

Is it legal for MailGapp partnered mailing centers to receive my personal mail?

Yes, each commercial mail receiving agency (CMRA) must register with the USPS and fill out the necessary paperwork. See the USPS website for full details:
